You know some of us breeders spend most of our adult lives learning all we can about our great breed. Whether it was thru a mentor (mine was Margaret Manville, rest in peace, sure miss talking and your advice.)on line, books, or talking dogs with a fellow known breeder(s). I was taught that knowledge is power. I am not saying I know it all, far from it, but I will continue to gain all that I can learn till I am unable too. A veterinarian knows dogs and other animals. A breeder should know its breed or at least not be afraid to ask another for information. |

Do Dogs Dream? As a dog owner, you've likely been entertained by watching your loyal friend's peaceful sleep interrupted by sudden jerks, eye twitching and funny noises. It looks like your dog is competing in an agility competition in his sleep. But is this just your dog having involuntary movements while sleeping, or is your dog actually dreaming? Make no mistake, your dog is definitely dreaming. Like the human brain, a dog's brain has an area for memory. It is commonly believed that dreams are the result of memories being evaluated and possibly moved around. |

The puppies have started the weaning process. In a perfect world they could have nursed longer but Gidget's milk supply has declined drastically. May have been due to when I was in the hospital(heart attack) and her "Daddy" was gone although there was a wonderful family here taking care of her, babies and rest of my "herd". Maybe cause she only had three puppies and it's her first time whelping. I don't know but I will keep the puppies well fed. They are now eating my Purina puppy chow with goats milk mixture. |
